Revelation 17
5 And upon her forehead was a name written, Mystery, Babylon The Great, The Mother Of Harlots And Abominations Of The Earth.
6 And I saw the women drunken with the blood of the saints, and with the blood of the martyrs of Jesus: and when I saw her, I wondered with great admiration.
Jude
14 And Enoch also, the seventh from Adam, prophesied of these, saying, Behold, the Lord cometh with ten thousands of his saints,
15 To exccute judgment upon all, and to convince all that are ungodly among them of all their ungodly deeds which they have ungodly committed, and of all their hard speeches which ungodly sinners have spoken against him.
2 Corinthians 10
5 Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ;
6 And having in a readiness to revenge all disobedience, when your obedience is fulfilled.
7 Do ye look on things after the outward appearance? If any man trust to himself that his is Christ's, let him of himself think this again, that, as he is Christ's, even so are we Christ's.
Ephesians 5
11 And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather reprove them.
12 For it is a shame even to speak of those things which are done of them in secret.
13 But all things that are reproved are made manifest by the light: for whatsoever doth make manifest is light.
"The great whore that sitteth upon many waters." (a multitude of people), "the inhabitants of the earth have been made drunk (utter religious and cultic intoxication) with the wine of her fornication." "…sit upon a scarlet coloured beast, (an antichrist world system) full of names of blasphemy…"
(This is the Catholic false system)
(Revelation 17: 1b; 2b; 3b)
There has never been a worldwide religious entity that has any similarity to this Biblical prophecy except the Roman Catholic system. If the Roman Catholic Church is a Christian institution, then the Bible is imperfect, incomplete, and woefully lacking. Either the Bible is wrong, or this religious institution is an utterly false system of pagan religion. You must decide, and your eternal soul is in the balance of your decision.
But the truth is "…the scripture cannot be broken." (St. John 10:35b) This same John that wrote the Gospel of John also wrote the book of Revelation and he uttered what the Spirit said through him. "For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book, If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book: And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book. He which testifieth these things saith, Surely I come quickly. Amen. Even so, come, Lord Jesus." (Revelation 22:18-20)
John declared that Jesus, by the Spirit, had given him these words by saying, "He which testifieth these things." Millions of saints, over nearly two thousand years, have died by burning at the stake, drowning, stoning, being slaughtered by Catholic armies, being brutally killed by Jewish priests, etc., because they refused to deny that the Bible alone was the totality of truth. The very doctrines that I will prove to you are blasphemy were the same doctrines that these millions of brave saints refused to acknowledge as truth. They chose death by the most horrible means of suffering because they would not bow to blasphemous names or ideas that the Catholic Church imposed upon the world.
The doctrines of Catholicism are indeed blasphemous. It is impossible to sanctify an endless list of false teachings by using the name of Jesus. It is even worse to debauch His wonderful name by attaching that name to a false idea of the Mother of God or to connect that name to a wafer that some priest claims has become His literal body. The name of Jesus Christ can never make a false idea holy or purify some doctrine of a purgatory where the unclean can pass after death before entering the presence of the Lord. Saying you believe in the cross of Christ and His resurrection as the propitiation for sin while entering a confessional to have some unknown man absolve you of sin makes a mockery of His sacrifice. On the primary teachings of Roman Catholicism, each are very clearly "names of blasphemy" and they are so numerous that the Holy Spirit speaking through John, says that she is full of these names. Let's look at some of the names that fill her cup until God is preparing to judge her for her spewing of these doctrines on the millions of innocent and blinded souls who will spend eternity in hell because of this whore system.
Full of Names of Blasphemy
Let's begin with some of the lesser-known doctrines of blasphemy. Most people have heard these names but know little of their importance to the Catholic Church. Every idea we discuss is demanded upon the faithful members, and all of them have been used to condemn and put to death martyrs throughout the centuries. Once an idea has been declared truth, then no future pope or true Catholic can deny or refuse that doctrine. If the climate of the political world is such as it was in the dark ages, this system would once again impose these doctrines with the threat of death. Just today I received an e-mail that said the following words to me: "The articles written by Joseph Chambers, The Mother of Harlots and Her Children, is shameful. Its author could not be more ill-informed and ignorant of the truth. It is grievous to the Holy Spirit when a member of the Body of Christ intentionally misleads their fellow Christians with such vile, hateful and evil religious sectarian propaganda. The Catholic Church is the Church founded by our Lord Jesus Christ over two thousand years ago. Its teachings and tradition have been the bedrock of civilization and have remained constant. The One Holy Catholic and Apostolic church continues to strive for ecumenical union with the Protestant members of the Body of Christ. Mr. Chambers is to be pitied if he really believes the repulsive lies he has composed about the Church. According to Christ, it would be better for one such as he to never have lived than to stand accused before our Beloved Lord of misleading any of the faithful of His flock." This last sentence is the justification used by the Catholic system to martyr millions of saints.
Indulgences: The Name of Blasphemy
"An indulgence is the extra-sacramental remission of the temporal punishment due, in God's justice, to sin that has been forgiven, which remission is granted by the Church in the exercise of the power of the keys, through the application of the superabundant merits of Christ and of the saints, and for some just and reasonable motive." (Catholic Encyclopedia, www.newadvent.org)
Several points show the blasphemy of this entire idea. There is no forgiveness of sin except the merit of His death and sacrifice and nothing is needed to add to that forgiveness. This statement says, "the superabundant merits of Christ and of the saints." There is no merit of forgiveness of any saint, regardless of their holiness, that can add to the sacrifice of Christ, nor is any needed. This statement spoke of "extra-sacramental remission of the temporary punishment due…to sin that had been forgiven." How do you offer "extra-sacramental remission" to something that has already been forgiven? Has the blood of Christ no power to rid us of all sin and all consequences of sin when it is applied? It is blasphemy to speak of double forgiveness needed in the great economy of His sacrifice.
This is nothing but ecclesiastical bondage on the saints that gives power to priests to extract money from the faithful. Stories abound throughout the centuries of the representatives of the pope who traveled the countryside, and robbed the poor and innocent with fear of hell or purgatory, or promise of forgiveness for the proper offering. Here is a further statement that reveals the power this doctrine would provide the pope and his priests over the people. "An indulgence is valid both in the tribunal of the Church and in the tribunal of God. This means that it not only releases the penitent from his indebtedness to the Church or from the obligation of performing canonical penance, but also from the temporal punishment which he has incurred in the sight of God and which, without the indulgence, he would have to undergo in order to satisfy Divine justice." (Catholic Encyclopedia: Indulgences, www.newadvance.org) Such an idea is loaded with fear and bondage. To think I need a priest that can set an amount of money by which he can free me of the penalty of my sins that Jesus Christ has already forgiven is blasphemy against God and against His saints. This one doctrine, and the many facets the Catholic Church has attached to it, is enough to condemn Catholicism to the core.
Relics: The Name of Blasphemy
"The teaching of the Catholic Church with regard to the veneration of relics is summed up in a decree of the Council of Trent (Sess.XXV), which enjoins on bishops and other pastors to instruct their flocks that the holy bodies of holy martyrs and of others now living with Christ - which bodies were the living members of Christ and 'the temple of the Holy Ghost' (1 Cor. vi, 19) and which are by Him to be raised to eternal life and to be glorified are to be venerated by the faithful, for through these [bodies] many benefits are bestowed by God on men." "The justification of Catholic practice, which is indirectly suggested here by the reference to the bodies of the saints as formerly temples of the Holy Ghost and as destined hereafter to be eternally glorified, is further developed in the authoritative 'Roman Catechism' drawn up at the instance of the same council. Recalling the marvels witnessed at the tombs of the martyrs, where the blind and cripples are restored to health, the dead recalled to life, and *devils* expelled from the bodies of men the Catechism points out that these are facts which St. Ambrose and St. Augustine, most unexceptionable witnesses, declare in their writings that they have not merely heard and read about, as many did but have seen with their own eyes." (Catholic Encyclopedia, Relics, www.newadvent.org)
Honor to the great saints of God passed on to glory is indeed beautiful, but to use their clothing, past possessions, and even bits of hair or other matter, is blasphemy. Why would we even consider the need of such in a household of believers where every believer is a priest, and every saint a vessel of the Holy Ghost. This is actually pagan to the core, and is so identified in the Catholic Encyclopedia. It mentions the Buddhists, as well as other religions and that this is an ancient practice adopted by the Catholic system. This following statement comes directly out of the Catholic Encyclopedia. "At Athens the supposed remains of Oedipus and Theseus enjoyed an honour which it is very difficult to distinguish from a religious cult, while Plutarch gives an account of the translation of the bodies of Demetrius (Demetr.iii) and Phocion (Phoc.xxxvii) which in many details anticipates the Christian practice of the Middle Ages. As for the Far East, the famous story of the distribution of the relics of Buddha, an incident which is believed to have taken place immediately after his death, seems to have found remarkable confirmation in certain modern archaeological discoveries. In any case of extreme development of relic worship amongst the Buddhists of every sect is a fact beyond dispute." (Catholic Encyclopedia: Relics, www.newadvent.org) This provides incredible proof of the Catholic practice of adopting and sanctifying ancient paganism into its traditions and doctrines. This is utter blasphemy.
The Rosary: The Name of Blasphemy
"'The Rosary', says the Roman Breviary, is a certain form of prayer wherein we say fifteen decades or tens of Hail Marys with an Our Father between each ten, while at each of these fifteen decades we recall successively in pious meditation one of the mysteries of our Redemption. The same lesson for the Feast of the Holy Rosary informs us that when the Albigensian heresy was devastating the country of Toulouse, St. Dominic earnestly besought the help of Our Lady and was instructed by her, so tradition asserts, to preach the Rosary among the people as an antidote to heresy and sin. From that time forward this manner of prayer was most wonderfully published abroad and developed [promulgari augerique coepit] by St. Dominic whom different Supreme Pontiffs have in various past ages of their apostolic letters declared to be the institutor and author of the same devotion." (Catholic Encyclopedia: The Rosary, www.newadvent.org)
One rosary, called the Greek rosary, is prescribed as follows: "O Lord Jesus Christ Son and Word of the living God, through the intercessions of the immaculate Mother [tes panachrantou sou Metros] and of all thy Saints, have mercy and save us."
It is wonderful to know that I need no other, such as Mary or the saints, to make intercession for me. But further, there "…is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus." (1 Timothy 2:5) To impose another, whether the virgin Mary or a passed saint, is blasphemy. A few minutes after Pope John Paul II died, I heard a leader of the Catholic laity in America say, "A few minutes ago I was praying for the Pope, now I'm praying to him." He went on to speak of the great good that would now come because the deceased Pope would be making intercession to God for the living. This is not Biblical Christianity but a harlot system imposed upon the multitudes of unconverted Catholics. The name of the Rosary is blasphemy.
Sign of the Cross: The Name of Blasphemy
"Most commonly and properly the words "sign of the cross" are used of the large cross traced from forehead to breast and from shoulder to shoulder, such as Catholics are taught to make upon themselves when they begin their prayers, and such also as the priest makes at the foot of the altar when he commences Mass with the words: "In nominee Patris et Filii et Spiritus Sancti." (At the beginning of Mass the celebrant makes the sign of the cross by placing his left hand extended under his breast; then raising his right to his forehead, which he touches with the extremities of his fingers, he says: In nominee Patris; then, touching his breast with the same hand, he says: et Filii; touching his left and right shoulders, he says; et Spiritus Sancti; and as he joins his hands again adds: Amen.)" (Catholic Encyclopedia: Sign Of The Cross, www.newadvent.org)
Nothing is more powerful or more absolutely intrinsic to our great Christian faith as communion with our Father and our Lord in devotion of prayer. Anything that robs prayer of simple fellowship and communion is devastating to our spiritual life. Yes, maintaining a powerful prayer life requires constant devotion, and anything that makes it rote and formal, and adding the constant sign of a cross, is mighty to destroy. To reduce prayer to a form, and to just repeat that form, makes the whole of it no better than the noise of the heathens. When the priests control the prayer life and the language of that prayer life, the people are in utter bondage to those priests. This helps us understand how millions of Catholics can tolerate a priesthood saturated with homosexuals, pedophiles and immorality, and still remain faithful to the system.
This blasphemous system of prayer leaves the faithful Catholics spiritually empty and dependent on the confessional for peace of mind and assurance. All intimacy of prayer is gone and the only hope left is to hurry to Mass so a wafer can be consumed in the hope of salvation. Every Catholic I have ever known lives a very careless life as it relates to Biblical standards because their hope is in the sign of the cross, the rosary, and other blasphemous traditions of this perverted system. If they confess sins, they are commanded to say a set number of "Hail Marys" and to repeat the rosary a given number of times while making the sign of the cross. What blasphemy!
Purgatory: The Name of Blasphemy
"Purgatory (Lat. purgare, to make clean, to purify) in accordance with Catholic teaching is a place or condition of temporal punishment for those who, departing from this life in God's grace, are, not entirely free from venial faults, or have not fully paid the satisfaction due to their transgression. The faith of the Church concerning purgatory is clearly expressed in the Decree of Union drawn up by the Council of Florence (Mansi.t.XXXI.col.1031), and in the decree of the Council of Trent which (Sess.XXV) defined: 'Whereas the Catholic Church, instructed by the Holy Ghost, has from the Sacred Scriptures and the ancient tradition of the Fathers taught in Councils and very recently in this Ecumenical synod (Sess. VI. Cap.XXX; Sess. XXII cap.ii,iii) that there is a purgatory, and that the souls therein are helped by the suffrages of the faithful, but principally by the acceptable Sacrifice of the Altar; the Holy Synod enjoins on the Bishops that they diligently endeavor to have the sound doctrine of the Fathers in Councils regarding purgatory everywhere taught and preached, held and believed by the faithful." (Catholic Encyclopedia: Purgatory, www.newadvent.org)
This doctrine is one of the most blasphemous of all and will be the damnation of a multitude. The sheer insanity of creating a "half way house" toward heaven and confining the faithful to this place of limbo while the saints pray, say their rosaries, attend the Mass, and give money to the system is totally evil. That it involves giving of money is clearly stated. "In the New Testament as well as in the Old, almsgiving and fasting, and in general penitential acts are the real fruits of repentance (Matt.iii, 8; Luke xvii, 3;iii 3) The whole penitential system of the Church testifies that the voluntary assumption of penitential works has always been part of true repentance and the Council of Trent (Sess. XIV, can.xi) reminds the faithful that God does not always remit the whole punishment due to sin together with the guilt. God requires satisfaction, and will punish sin, and this doctrine involves as its necessary consequence a belief that the sinner failing to do penance in this life may be punished in another world, and so not be cast off eternally from God." (Catholic Encyclopedia: Purgatory, www.newadvent.org)
The blood of Jesus Christ saves: "Wherefore he is able also to save them to the uttermost that come unto God by him, seeing he ever liveth to make intercession for them." (Hebrews 7:25) The Bible is beautiful to promise, "For I will be merciful to their unrighteousness, and their sins and their iniquities will I remember no more. And their sins and iniquities will I remember no more. Now where remission of these is, there is no more offering for sin." (Hebrews 8:12; 10:17-18) He does not remember our sin against us when we are thoroughly converted and forgiven. We do good works, not to merit salvation but because our heart has been changed and our appetites have been cleansed. We give our tithes and offerings because the Kingdom of God becomes one's delight, not to merit cleansing or to extract a soul from the "half way house." This vile doctrine is blasphemy.
Extreme Unction: The Name Of Blasphemy
"A sacrament of the New Law instituted by Christ to give spiritual aid and comfort and perfect spiritual health, including, if need be, the remission of sins, and also, conditionally, to restore bodily health, to Christians who are seriously ill; it consists essentially in the unction by a priest of the body of the sick person, accompanied by a suitable form of words. As administered in the Western Church today according to the rite of the Roman Ritual, the sacrament consists (apart from certain non-essential prayers) in the unction with oil, specially blessed by the bishop, of the organs of the five external senses (eyes, ears, nostrils, lips, hands), of the feet, and, for men (where the custom exists and the condition of the patient permits of his being moved), of the loins or reins; and in the following form repeated at each unction with mention of the corresponding sense of faculty: 'Through this holy unction and His own most tender mercy may the Lord pardon thee whatever sins or faults thou hast committed [quidquid deliquisti] by sight [by hearing, smell, taste, touch, walking, carnal delectation]'. The unction of the loins is generally, if not universally, omitted in English-speaking countries, and it is of course everywhere forbidden in the case of women. To perform this rite fully takes an appreciable time, but in cases of urgent necessity, when death is likely to occur before it can be completed, it is sufficient to employ a single unction (on the forehead, for instance) with the general form: 'Through this holy unction may the Lord pardon thee whatever sins or faults thou hast committed.'" (Catholic Encyclopedia: Extreme Unction, www.newadvent.org)
To die, believing that this ceremony by a priest frees the dying individual of sins in deceitful beyond measure. It is cruel beyond common sense to offer such empty hope to a dying faithful of the Church. Even the death of a Catholic has to be manipulated by the priest because he is in control of the entire life and destiny of faithful members. It is pitiful to be in such moral, spiritual, and eternal bondage. The whole system is called by Scripture "the doctrine of the Nicolaitanes." The Lord spoke of this to the Church of Ephesus. "But this thou hast, that thou hatest the deeds of the Nicolaitans, which I also hate." (Revelation 2:6) This first church hated the doctrine but by the time of the church of Pergamos, the doctrine had taken hold in the house of God. The Lord said to them, "So hast thou also them that hold the doctrine of the Nicolaitans, which thing I hate." (Revelation 2:15) This was a doctrine of control by the upper echelon of priests over the people of God.
This blasphemous name of "Extreme Unction" shows how totally the Catholic Church has fallen to the pagan ideas of priests above the people instead of the priesthood of all the saints. This is a name of blasphemy.
Eucharist: The Name of Ultimate Blasphemy
"The organic connection of this mysterious triad is clearly discerned, if we consider Divine grace under the aspect of a personal communication of God. Thus in the bosom of the Blessed Trinity, God the Father, by virtue of the eternal generation, communicates His Divine Nature to God the son, 'the only begotten son who is in the bosom of the Father' (John, I, 18), while the Son of God, by virtue of the hypostatic union, communicates in turn the Divine nature received from His Father to His human nature formed in the womb of the Virgin Mary (John, I, 14), in order that thus as God-man, hidden under the Eucharistic Species, He might deliver Himself to His Church, who, as a tender mother, mystically cares for and nurtures in her own bosom this, her greatest treasure, and daily places it before her children as the spiritual food of their souls. Thus the Trinity, Incarnation and Eucharist are really welded together like a precious chain, which in a wonderful manner links heaven with earth. God with man, uniting them most intimately and keeping them thus united. By the very fact that the Eucharistic mystery does transcend reason, no rationalistic explanation of it, based on a merely natural hypothesis and seeking to comprehend one of the sublimest truths of the Christian religion as the spontaneous conclusion of logical processes, may be attempted by a Catholic theologian." (Catholic Encyclopedia: Eucharist, www.newadvent.org)
High-sounding words, but poison is in the pot. Jesus Christ made it plain that this grace of Jesus Christ is not flesh. He said, "It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life." (St. John 6:63) To take communion away from the Holy Spirit and put it in the hands of fallible men is a dark choice. Please note the words in the above quote and look carefully. This document says of the God-man, Jesus Christ, "…hidden under the Eucharistic Species, (wafer and wine), He might deliver Himself to His church." This bypasses the great work of His Vicar, the Holy Spirit, and instead makes it a substitute event fully controlled by the hierarchy of the system. A faithful Catholic will kneel before the wafer as though it was the Eternal Son of God. This reduces our Savior from the Exalted One seated at the Father's right hand, to a tool of a system that wants full control of your life and destiny. The Eucharist is a name of blasphemy.
Conclusion
There is no room for an additional myriad of blasphemous names. From the Mother of God idea, to the wild speculations of apparitions, to the confessional where a priest, a possible drunk, homosexual, pedophile, adulterer, and often, a good, decent man, proposes to absolve you of your confessed sin, it is all blasphemy. No, all Catholics are not bad people. We are not anti-anything. We are pro-Bible. The Word of God is infallible and this system as all human systems is the imagination of men.
Your soul is either in the hands of the Lord Jesus Christ and His Holy Spirit or in the hands of men elevated beyond common sense, much less the great truth of Scripture. The Catholic Church says, "St. Chrysostom proves the dignity of the priesthood by showing, among other arguments, that the priests by their spiritual ministry do more for us than our own parents can do. Whereas our parents only beget our bodies, which they cannot save from death and disease, the priests regenerate our souls in baptism and have power, moreover, to remit post-baptismal sins, a power which St. Chrysostom proves by quoting the text of St. James." (Catholic Encyclopedia, Extreme Unction, www.newadvent.org)
It is time to return to "Sola Scriptura." The Word of God "cannot be broken." It is the script by which God and Christ will judge all of us accordingly. If we depart from truth, we depart from God because He lives in His Word, and His word lives in Him. "For ever, O LORD, thy word is settled in heaven." (Psalm 119:89) Blessings to those who walk in the Word and trust only in the Lord. The Bible says, "But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus." (Philippians 4:19)
